Feel the great experience on paradise island
In this entry, I would like to share this article with you. I have read a comment from a traveler who had recently visited Perhentian Island. Here is what I’ve read from the website.
“Soon we were joining in with the melee at the jetty: boats were loaded, lifejackets sensibly procured for youngsters journeying out to the Perhentian Island and before long we were skimming across waves as an almost carnival atmosphere punctuated the sometimes choppy ride out to Perhentian Besar, the larger but quieter of the two Islands. Just as the bumpiness began to really jar, we arrived at the jetty of Flora Bay and stepped off to witness a crescent of white sand stretching into the distance.
We settled on the dive shop of Alu Alu, the Malay name for Barracuda. There are many dive shops to choose from but we enjoyed their personalised, casual yet thorough attitude to diving and their eagerness to engage with us as visitors to their Island. The dive shop will quite happily organise accommodation or you can stroll along the beach and locate a beach front chalet or hotel room of your own choosing. The dives themselves are organised, frequent and affordable. Another joy of scuba here is that almost all of the thirty plus sites are short boat rides away and so you do not spend a lot of time journeying to your site. Similarly, they tended to be largely deserted and you did not feel you were in competition with other operators.
Snorkelling opportunities are legion too and we spent many afternoons in impossibly warm water watching fish, sharks and turtles. It is the diving that really astonishes in Perhentian though: whether as a novice completing an Open-water Certificate or a more experienced diver attaining 'Dive-Master' status there is something new, challenging and yet manageable for all levels. We swam with enormous Bumpheads while watching Reefsharks darting from one end of a coral outcrop to the other at breakneck speed, always of course, framed by an incredible array of colour that is the living coral.”
