Turtle Point

Do you have dream to see turtle live, in front of your own eyes? Well you actually can do that f you come and visit Perhentian Island. There’s a place called Turtle Sanctuary or Turtle Point. Here you will have the chance to see the turtles in their wild and free world. Here is what I’ve read from that article.

“After staying there for about 45 minutes, our team left the place and heading back to Long Beach. On the way back, while passing by the Perhentian Besar, our boat came to a place called Turtle Point.

The boatman has spotted a turtle laying its head on the sea water surface. What’s a great scene! Then, the boat stopped, and we were advised to jump down into the sea as quick as possible, with all the necessary equipments ready.

As you might have guessed, by the time we jumped down into the sea, the spotted turtle has already disappeared from our sight. I was shocked with the depth of the sea. Certainly, with my approximation, it’s at least 30 Ft. Well, not everyone on the boat has got down into the sea, but just a few including me. Then, a few of my friends and I have tried to swim around the area to locate the turtle’s location, but failed.

Then, it’s the time for the boatman to show his stunt and skills. With quick strokes, he has dived into the sea without proper diving equipments, and successfully located the latest turtle’s location within a short moment. Great! He has given us a hand-sign, and everyone of us moved as quick as possible to witness the lovely turtle. But, at first, with so many people trying to swim in quick strokes, what I could see was nothing but bubbles. Then, I changed my direction in another diagonal to reach the hinted location. But, as expected, the turtle has already dived into the seabed. The limited visibility only allows my sight to spot a dark huge turtle shape. The turtle size was much larger than my expectation. As shown in the following photo, it’s the turtle we’ve spotted. I have no idea on what’s the species.”
