With the database we collect from a 6 month expedition team [CCC] that held in Perhentian Island, here is just a few fauna inhabitant that role in shadow of this great island..
 
    Dusky Langur (Trachypithecus Obscurus)
Description: The Dusky Langur is a dark grey monkey with white patches around its eyes. The young have an orange fur
Seen: Day time
Length: 110-115cm
Habitat: Forest Canopy only on Perhentian Besar
     
  Colugo (Cynocephalus Variegates)
Description: colugos are mammal with a thin membrane connecting their leg and tail that enable them to glide from tree to tree.
Seen: Day & night
Length: 50-70ccm
Habitat: Forest canopy and forest edge.
     
  Common Tree Shrew (Tupaia Giles)
Description: The Common Tree Shrew is not a true shrew! Of ten mistaken for a squirrel. They have a red-dish brown fur and have a pointed nose. It’s a very energetic mammal.
Seen: Day
Length: 30-45cm
Habitat: Ground & low tree.
     
  Plantain Squirrel (Callosclurus Notatus)
Descriptions: Plantain Squirrels are one of the group of Beautiful Squirrels. They have distinguishing white stripe down their sides and a red tip to their tail.
Seen: Day time.
Length: 30-50cm.
Habitat: Low branch & high canopy.
     
 
     
  White Rumped Sharma (Copsychus Malabaricus)
Descriptions: This bird has grown quite confident on the island and it’s not afraid to be around humans. It has beautiful song and can be identified by its orange chest and white rump.
Seen: Day light
Length: 20-28cm.
Habitat: Ground level, low branches.
     
  Pacific Swallow (Hirundo Tahitica)
Descriptions: The Pacific Swallow has a fork tail and can be seen chasing each other around in groups.
Seen: Day light.
Length: 14cm
Habitat: Swooping around coastal area.
     
  Pied Imperial Pigeon (Ducula Bicolor)
Descriptions: This Pigeon is common on the island. Often seen flying in small groups above the canopy.
Seen: Day light.
Length: 40cm
Habitat: Above the canopy.
     
  Waglers Pit Viper (Tropidolaemus Wagleri)
Descriptions: The Waglers Pit Viper has deadly venom and should not be approached. They may stay in one location for many days. Adults are darker than the juvenile shown above. They sit in a S-shape pose.
Seen: Day & night time.
Length: 100cm
Habitat: Low branch between knee & head height.
     
  Reticulated Python (Pyhon Reticulatus)
Descriptions: This snake can grow up to 10 meters long and has stunning shimmering multicolored scales. It should not be approach as it is a powerful constrictor.
Seen: Days & night
Length: 10meters
Habitat: Bushes & tree (Coiled up in tree). .
     
  Monitor (Varanidae)
Descriptions: Monitor are the large lizard found on the island. Water monitor have rings of yellow on their scale whereas Clouded monitor have spot.
Seen: Days times.
Length: 100-300cm
Habitat: On the ground amongst the under growth
